## When to use this

Use themes when you want to:

* Give a course a professional, polished look without editing every screen.
* Apply your organization’s branding to a specific course.
* Preview and switch between different preset designs.
* (On upgraded plans) Apply saved custom Brand kit themes directly in the course.

## Applying a theme from the course editor


1. From your dashboard, open the course you want to edit.
2. In the top-right corner of the course editor, click the **Design** icon (palette icon).
3. A side panel will open, showing available **Preset themes** (for example: Base, Pine, and others).
4. Click any preset theme to instantly apply it to your course and preview how it looks.
5. Continue editing your course as needed, then remember to **Publish** your changes so learners see the updated design (if publishing applies in your workspace).

## Using Brand kit themes (upgraded plans)

If your workspace is on a paid, upgraded plan, the Design panel also surfaces options from your **Brand kit**:

* **Brand kit themes:** Any custom themes you’ve created in the Brand kit can appear alongside presets for selection in the course.
* **Advanced customization:** Brand kit themes can include custom logos, colors, and typography that align with your organization’s brand.

To fully customize or create new themes, open your **Brand kit** from the main workspace menu and use the **Themes** tab to configure and save them. Once saved, these themes can be selected from the course Design panel.
