Use this process when you want to design a specific visual style, such as a specific department's branding, that dictates how courses look, including buttons, backgrounds, and typography.

## Step-by-step instructions


1. In the **Themes** tab of the Brand kit, click the **Create theme** button.
2. **Name your theme**: Enter a descriptive name in the Theme name field.
3. **Set Colors**: Use the color pickers to define the **Accent**, **Background**, **Headings**, and **Gradient** colors.
4. **Start & Finish Screens**: Toggle **Emphasize Start and Finish screens** if you want these screens to have a distinct look compared to the rest of the course.
5. **Configure Fonts**:
   * Select fonts for **Headings and labels** and **Body** text from the Google Fonts list.
   * *Note*: Enterprise plans may have the option to add custom fonts.
6. **Add custom fonts to a theme**:

   
   1. While editing a theme, scroll down and expand the **Fonts** section.
   2. Click on the font selection dropdown menu, for either **Headings and labels** or **Body**.
   3. In the dropdown list, click on **Add fonts** under the **CUSTOM** category.
   4. A new window will appear titled **Upload custom fonts**.
   5. You can either drag and drop your font file into the designated area or click **browse to upload** to select the file from your computer.
7. **Logo Settings**:
   * Toggle **Display logo** to ON if you want your logo to appear in the course.
   * Select which logo to use from your uploaded assets.
   * Use the **Bounding box** toggle if you need to place a white box behind the logo for better contrast.
8. Click **Save changes** at the bottom of the screen to finish creating your theme.
