Works on any device

  • Responsive design — all Coassemble courses are fully responsive and adapt automatically to desktop, tablet, and mobile screen sizes. No additional configuration is required from the course creator.
  • No app required — learners access courses through your embedded platform in a browser. There's no separate app to install.
  • Resume from where you left off — learner progress is tracked automatically. If a learner exits and returns to a course, they resume from the screen they were on.

Navigation and progression control

  • Sequential navigation — creators can lock a course so learners must complete each screen in order before progressing. Ensures key content isn't skipped and that the course follows an intentional learning arc.
  • Free navigation — courses can be set to allow learners to move freely between screens. Useful for reference material, resource libraries, or courses where learners need to self-direct.
  • Enforce video completion — creators can require learners to watch a video in full before they can proceed. Prevents skipping and ensures video content is genuinely consumed.

Knowledge checks and assessment

  • Knowledge checks — embed interactive questions throughout a course at any point. Supports multiple choice, true/false, short answer, and other question types. Questions can appear mid-course to reinforce learning, not just at the end.
  • Pass/fail thresholds — set a minimum passing score for quizzes. Learners who don't meet the threshold can be prompted to retry, ensuring a standard of understanding before completion is recorded.
  • Answer feedback — quiz questions can display explanatory feedback when a learner selects a wrong answer, turning assessment into a learning moment rather than just a test.

Feedback and motivation

  • Completion celebrations — when a learner finishes a course, a celebration moment marks the achievement. Reinforces positive completion behavior and gives learners a sense of progress.

Languages and localization

  • Multi-language support — courses can be translated into 50+ languages using AI translation. Learners are served the course in their preferred language without needing entirely separate course versions to be maintained.
  • RTL language support — right-to-left languages are supported in the course player, so Arabic, Hebrew, and similar scripts display correctly.

Accessibility

The Coassemble course player is built to WCAG 2.2 Level AA standards. See the Accessibility guide in Best Practices for full detail on what this covers and how it relates to your implementation.

  • Keyboard navigation — learners can navigate through course screens and interact with all content using only a keyboard.
  • Screen reader compatibility — course content is structured for compatibility with common screen readers, including proper heading hierarchy, alt text support, and ARIA labelling.
  • Closed captions — AI-generated narration includes auto-generated closed captions that creators can review and edit before publishing. Captions play in sync with narration during course delivery.
  • Color contrast — themes and default styles meet WCAG 2.2 AA contrast requirements for text and interactive elements.
