Default usage caps for clients

What AI usage figures does a new client start with?

The default monthly AI figures assigned to a client created through the API, how they relate to your workspace allowance, and how to change them.

When you create a client via the API, each client is automatically assigned default usage figures for AI features:

FeatureDefault
Narration tokens250,000 / month
Image generations150 / month

These figures are how you divide your workspace's AI allowance across your clients, so you can see how much any single client is set up to consume relative to the others.

How do client figures relate to my workspace allowance?

Your workspace has a total AI allowance. Client figures sit underneath it: all clients draw from the same workspace pool, and each client's figure is its share of that pool.

Both the workspace allowance and every client figure reset at the start of the next calendar month.

Can I change them?

Yes. You can set a different monthly figure for any client through the Coassemble API, or set a client to unlimited so it draws freely from your workspace pool. Unlimited removes that client's own ceiling rather than adding to the pool. See the developer documentation for the endpoint and request shape.

How do I see what a client is using?

The Per-Tenant Usage Reporting API returns consumption by client for any time window, so you can build a dashboard or an alert on top of it rather than checking manually.

What happens when the workspace allowance runs out?

Nothing switches off. Narration tokens and image generation events are soft capped, so going past your workspace allowance starts a conversation with us rather than a block. We'll get in touch before anything changes, so there are no surprise cut-offs and no automatic overage billing. The per-client figures you set still work exactly as described above.
