Custom fonts allow you to upload and use your own typefaces across courses in your workspace, helping you maintain consistency with your organisation's brand. Once uploaded, a custom font is available to all members of your workspace and can be applied to any theme via the Brand kit.

This article walks you through how to upload a custom font and add it to a theme.

### Step 1: Navigate to Brand kit

In your Coassemble workspace, select **Brand kit** from the side bar. 

### Step 2: Select **Themes**

From the Brand kit side menu, choose **Themes**. You'll see your existing themes and preset options including Base, Pine, Mauve, and Berry.

### Step 3: Open a theme to edit or create a new theme. 

Select an existing theme preset to edit, or click **Create theme** in the top right to start fresh.

### Step 4: Open the Fonts section

Inside the theme editor, scroll down and expand the **Fonts** section. Here you can adjust fonts for both headings and labels, and for body text separately.

### Step 5: Add your custom font

Click the font dropdown and select **Add fonts**. A file uploader will appear — drag and drop your font file into the upload area, or click **browse to upload** to select it from your computer.

**Supported file types:**

* .ttf
* .woff
* .woff2
* .eot.
* otf
* .svg
* .vnd.ms-fontobject

### Step 6: Edit font details

Once uploaded, you'll be taken to the Edit fonts screen. Here you can update the Font family name, the font style name, and the font weight for each file. If you have multiple weights or styles (e.g. Regular, Medium, Bold), click **Add more fonts** to upload them all.

### Step 7: Save your changes

When everything looks correct, click Save changes. Your custom font will now be available to select in any theme across your workspace.


**Tip:** Make sure each font file has a unique name and the correct weight assigned. Fonts uploaded here are shared with everyone in your workspace.
